Orange County Judge Dennis Choate retired from the bench and will start working at ADR Services in Irvine. Choate spent 15 years as a deputy district attorney for Los Angeles county before being appointed to Orange County Municipal Court in 1987. Two years later, he was elevated to Superior Court. His areas of expertise are listed as personal injury, employment, real estates, business and commercial contract disputes as well as medical, legal and professional malpractice.

Less than a month after a bankruptcy court approved an auction process for the legitimate trading division of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, bankruptcy trustee Irving Picard of Baker & Hostetler announced a winning bid of $25.5 million for the unit. Boston law firm Choate Hall & Stewart has a number of cool recruiting videos here. The videos are derivative of the Mac v. PC commercials (do lawyers do anything that isn't derivative?) but are short enough to keep your attention, and are well made. From Ben Glass' website is a link to this video on tort reform from the plaintiffs' bar perspective. Ben himself has several YouTube marketing videos like this one.?alt=rss

Here's an article from Boston.com/Monster about a law firm, Choate Hall & Stewart, that came up with an interesting way to market their family friend law firm culture. They posted a video at their website which you can see here (see right-hand side under "choate culture") in which a busy female lawyer hands her children over to other lawyers so she can take a conference call. That's certainly different! Those Apple-PC spoofs (see middle frame) are funny too.
