Citing sources familiar with the matter, Reuters reports today that "Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. is trying to sell its property/ casualty insurance business, said Thursday, as the U.S. insurer reels from massive losses. Hartford has retained Goldman Sachs, which has been calling potential bidders for the property/ casualty business". The story was also carried in The Insurance Journal. Reuters also reported that talks with Sun Life of Canada on the life side have ended. Stay tuned.
