The trial and conviction of I. Lewis Libby Jr. is a great illustration of why courts should not recognize a testimonial privilege for journalists. Circuit's PACER docket in Mr. Libby's appeal, the court extended the deadline for the opening brief until December 11, 2007 -- tomorrow. United States v. Libby, No. 07-3068 (D.C. Cir.).
