What Paulsen is doing with B of A and Citi might be worse than nothing. It may be time to nationalize them, fire their management and then reprivatize them when markets are stablized. As it is, we are rewarding bad decisions, creating more moral hazard, moving lots of liabilities off balance sheet and creating incentives not to lend. I.e., exactly the wrong thing. It is difficult to impossible to get private-public mixtures right. We need to fight the Zombies!
