Another hair-brain scheme to pigeon hole former sex offenders into Gerbil like runs to prevent seeing any child. Sorry folks, society was not made strictly for children, there and adults and they have the same rights as anyone else; violate them and the walls of Jericho (i.e., Megan's' laws) will come tumbling down. Its just a matter of time and these laws help the demise of Megan's law entirely

An issue that received considerable attention last year (see here and here) but amid the budget crisis has understandably been ignored this year is Senator James Sheehan's bill to limit any person to one full term on the Judicial Nominating Commission. It is Senate Bill 2726 and it is scheduled for hearing today before the Senate Judiciary Committee in Room 313.

Senate Bill 0090, introduced by Senators Sosnowski, Walaska, Perry, Gibbs and Miller, would prohibit smoking in any vehicle in which a child is restrained or required to be restrained in a child safety seat. The penalty for violation would be a fine of $25, which could be eliminated in a first offense if the person proves that he or she has entered into a smoking cessation program.
