Lindsey Bever of the Washington Post reports that 33-year-old Daniel Ellis, a seven-year veteran of the Richmond Police Department, was shot in the head Wednesday morning when he and another officer went to an apartment to look for 34-year-old Raleigh Sizemore, who was suspected in an armed robbery of a woman at a gas station.
