RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- Three people were injured after they were involved in a motorcycle crash on Highway 74. The collision involved two motorcycles and occurred at about 1:50 p.m. Saturday on Highway 74, just south of Palm Desert. RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- Two people sustained critical injuries yesterday afternoon when the vehicle they were traveling in plunged off a highway in Lake Elsinore. Information provided by The Valley News and The Press-Enterprise indicated the crash happened at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday, when the two occupants riding in an antique military vehicle went 150 feet over the side of Ortega Highway, also known as State Route 74. RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- A three-motorcycle crash on Highway 74 killed one and injured two others, The Press-Enterprise reports. The accident occurred at about 1:45 p.m. Sunday, when William James Kaucky, 39, of Anaheim, was reported to be traveling east at a high speed on his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle and then for unknown reasons, he drove off the opposite side of the road and struck an embankment. RIVERSIDE COUNTY - A Lake Elsinore single vehicle crash killed one person and injured three last night. Lake-Elsinore-Wildomar Patch reported the accident happened Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. when the driver of a 2005 Ford F-150 was traveling west "at a high rate of speed" on state Route 74 and lost control causing the vehicle to rollover. RIVERSIDE COUNTY -- A multi-car accident in the city of Perris killed one person and injured three Wednesday night. At about 9:05 p.m., a 2004 silver Honda Civic traveling west on State Route 74 crossed the two-way left turn lane and slammed into a 2004 blue Honda Civic. Special elections have been announced for House Districts 74 and 104. A special primary will be held on October 15, 2013, with the general election to take place on December 10, 2013 whether or not a primary is needed. If a primary runoff is needed, it will be held December 3, 2013, with the general election postponed until January 28, 2014. Voters will be replacing Rep. Jim Barton in District 104 and Rep. DUI CONVICTION EXPUNGED – State v. Mr. W. (DMC No. 8991) (Scottsdale City Court No. 2008-040589): Mr. W had previously been convicted of a DUI in 2008. He needed the conviction to be Set Aside in order to secure a promotion in his employment. We were able to show the Judge that he had satisfied all of the penalties associated with his DUI conviction. The Judge agreed and Set Aside the Judgment of Guilt, thereby expunging Mr. W’s conviction. [read post]

The east and westbound lanes of Interstate 74 in Indianapolis, Indiana near the exit for Ronald Regan Parkway was shut down by Indiana State Police due to a jackknifed semi tractor - trailer and numerous slide offs Sunday morning. Although numerous incidents, slide-offs and accidents were reported on the Central Indiana highway, no serious injuries were reported. [read post]

Sections of Interstate 74 near Brownsburg, Indiana, were completely shut down just after 8:15 am on Wednesday as result of a head on auto collision. Authorities were able to reopen all lanes just after 1 p.m.. The Hendricks County Sheriff's Department reported that a 59 year old woman driving a mid-sized SUV entered I-74 from an exit ramp at Ronald Reagan Parkway near Avon, placing her in the wrong lane travelling into the path of oncoming traffic. SAN JACINTO MOUNTAINS - Two people were flown to Desert Regional Medical Center following a car accident Tuesday afternoon on Highway 74 (Pines to Palms Highway), the Southwest Riverside News Network reported. The accident was reported at 4:25 p.m., about a half-mile east of Highway 371 in Garner Valley, near Anza. The driver of a red Mazda sedan suffered serious injuries Thursday morning in crash near Lake Elsinore, the Southwest Riverside News Network reported. The November 25th accident, which also involved a GMC Yukon, happened shortly after 10 a.m. on State Route 74 near Meadowbrook Avenue. The driver of the GMC apparently collided with the Mazda, although it was unclear why. The SUV driver only suffered minor injuries. Neither party involved in the crash was identified. We recently spoke to the project manager from Iowa DOT, and squad leader from the IL DOT who informed us that they are currently in Phase II of the project timeline, which includes finalizing the buildable plans for construction. Neither Illinois nor Iowa are funded for construction but they each have some funds available for ROW acquisition.
