An Arlington first grade student was tragically killed Wednesday morning as she was walking to school with her mother. Authorities report that the child ran into the median of Park Springs Boulevard. When she attempted to cross the street again, she was struck by a white pickup truck. The driver stopped and rendered aid. The child was taken by ambulance to Medical Center of Arlington, where she later died.

A Kennendale woman was killed in a wreck on East Loop 820 in Fort Worth. The woman was identified as Jerilyn Moore. She was traveling southbound on the highway when her pickup truck struck a guardrail and went over. The truck landed in a grassy area below the pavement. Ms. Moore was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead shortly after the wreck.

According to new data released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, pedestrian fatality numbers are up by 4% in 2010, compared to 2009. However, these numbers are still 13% lower than they were in 2001. Two people were killed in a wreck in rural Johnson County involving a tractor-trailer rig. Authorities report that a pickup truck struck the back of a Peterbilt tractor-trailer at the intersection of county roads 904 and 1017. The pickup truck wound up under the big rig and the top of the truck was sheared off. The pickup truck driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

An 11 year old boy was injured when he was recently hit by a pickup truck in the parking lot of a Walmart in Burleson. The boy was riding his bicycle when the accident occurred. The boy was riding through parked cars when he emerged into traffic and was struck by the pickup as it passed him. The boy fell to the ground. He was treated at a Fort Worth hospital for his injuries, and has been released. The pickup truck did not stop, and authorities are trying to locate the driver.

One woman was killed and four others were injured in a wreck that occurred near the intersection of North Nolan River Road and Loop 67 in Cleburne. The woman was who killed riding in a car that was struck by a pickup truck. The woman and the driver of the pickup truck were taken by helicopter to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. She later died of her injuries. A Mansfield man died Sunday from injuries he sustained in a head-on crash in Mansfield on Sunday. The man, his wife and their 6 year old child were in a Pontiac Bonneville on U.S. 287 when they collided with a GMC Yukon. The driver of the Bonneville was killed in the accident. The other driver, and the Bonneville passengers, were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

A driver lost consciousness behind the wheel and drove his pickup truck into a house in Rowlett, Texas.
The driver, whose identity has not been released, lives in the same neighborhood. He was on his way home after having blood taken at the hospital. Rowlett police say he blacked out, and the truck then smashed through a woman’s house.
The owner was at home at the time of the accident, but was at the back of the house and suffered no injuries.

A 21-year-old Denton, Texas, man was killed in a car accident early Sunday morning.
The victim, Cory Gilder, was traveling northbound on North Loop 288 at around 6 a.m. when the accident occurred. Gilder lost control of his vehicle, crossing over the median and crashing head-on into another car.
Gilder was pronounced dead at the scene. Gilder’s passenger, as well as the driver of the second vehicle, were airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Both were seriously injured.

A Texas teenager was killed in a car accident early Sunday when she struck a guardrail on Northeast Loop 820. The impact caused her vehicle to roll over.
The victim, an 18-year-old whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident took place at around 3 a.m. in the 2500 block of Northeast Loop 820. The victim was traveling eastbound on the highway in a Ford Focus when she attempted to enter a ramp to head north, striking a guardrail instead.

A Dallas man was killed in a Plano car accident early Saturday morning.
The victim was 33-year-old Albil C. Bernal. According to witnesses, Bernal ran a red light at the intersection of West Park Boulevard and Custer Road. His pickup truck then struck a Hyundai sport utility vehicle.
As a result of the accident, Bernal was pinned underneath his truck. He died at the scene.
The driver of the Hyundai suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

A 16 year old girl was killed in a wreck south of Burleson. The girl was traveling southbound on Tarver Road in a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo when she crashed into a large truck that was parked on the side of the road, facing north. The truck was a "chipper" truck, a vehicle equipped with machinery to grind and chop tree limbs into wood chips. Two workers were on top of the truck when the accident happened, but they were not injured.

A one-car accident at a Texas shopping center has left one teen dead and three others injured. The accident occurred at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
Robert Tucker, 16, was killed in a one-vehicle accident in a Richardson, Texas, shopping center parking lot on Plano Road. Tucker was a passenger in a white Ford pickup truck that crashed behind a SuperTarget.
