My brother-in-law has been a lover of all things Apple for as long as I can remember. In fact, on the first day the iPad was released, he waited in line several hours just to be one of the first people to get one. I think the iPad will be a big disappointment for Apple and its customers. Look, this is just a giant iPod Touch, and that is about it. Kind of like a phone, but it does not fit into a pocket. And no multitasking, full-version software, USB ports, video outs, or Flash. Microsoft tried this with Windows CE, and look where that wound up. This patent protects Apple’s 4th-generation iPod Shuffle, originally introduced by the electronics device manufacturer back in September 2010. The application for this patent was originally filed as of late August 2010. So, if you follow me on twitter (@esquiremac), you knew a long time ago that my wife and I returned our Palm Pre’s within the first week of owning them. I previously chronicled my thoughts about the Pre after my first two days of ownership about a month ago.
There were a lot of positives about the Pre. To name a few:
Hands down, best rate plan available, by a long shot;
Aside from the iPhone, probably the best darn phone out there;
Good 3G data access;

Without a doubt, the Palm Pre is the best phone I have ever owned. Of course, that’s not saying much, since the previous best phone I ever owned was my Sanyo Katana that I’ve had for over 2.5 years, and it was just a plain ol’ phone.
Why Pre?
