Here's a video about the Central Falls Chapter 9 Municipal Bankruptcy that was filed recently. The poor little town had just 19,000 inhabitants, and it also had $80,000,000 in unfunded liabilities. Apparently, some politicians in Central Falls wrote checks that just couldn't be cashed! Putting it another way, it's probably a bad idea to use the almost-infinite credit card capacity of a city to the limits and beyond. [read post]
