For example, a recent news story about the shooting death of a Savannah man at the hands of a police officer was particularly troubling. Earlier this month, the family of Larry Wall Jr.- his father, Larry Wall Sr., and two children, Larry Thomas and Jaden Wall- filed a wrongful death lawsuit in… [read post]

There are few things more tragic than losing a loved one. It is even sadder when that tragic and unnecessary death causes further conflict. That seems to be the case with a Georgia wrongful death lawsuit over the death of Rusty Sneiderman. Mr. Sneiderman was shot and killed in front of a Dunwoody day care in November 2010. He had just dropped off his son and was returning to his car when Hemy Neuman drove up in a rented van and shot Mr. Sneiderman several times. Neuman was Mr. Sneiderman's wife… [read post]

In March, this blog posted about Leon Thurman, a 70 year old respected member of his Georgia community who was killed in a late night car accident by Varnell police officer James Smith. He was delivering newspapers at the time, something he did every day of the year except Christmas. At the time of his death, Mr. Thurman's family was not at all satisfied with the initial police report, which did not indicate the speeds the two cars were going at the time of the crash. Mr. Thurman's son noted that… [read post]
