  Although the Court of Appeals has not weighed in, dismissing an appeal of the 4th Department decision as premature because there was no final remedial order in the case yet, it seems unlikely that the Court of Appeals would have a radically different view from those lower state courts that have addressed the issue, because it would require a departure from their own past marriage recognition precedents.
