If that delay of a few weeks was really problematic, then maybe we really do need more than a couple of months for a smooth transition to occur.Based on the practice in other countries, I believe that the transition period in the U.S. could be substantially shortened—although some additional accommodations would be required so that new presidents could have their own team in place from day one.
