Techdirt’s Mike Masnick adequately sums up the concerns about this seizure. “Even if the forms were being used for some illegal purpose,” Masnick said, “I still can’t fathom a reason why it should lead to everyone else getting censored and an internet startup facing a massive hardship wherein tons of users have had their service disrupted with millions of useful forms being suddenly disappeared.” [read post]

As Mike Masnick explains at Techdirt, there is a lot we still don’t know about this (it’s classified, and you’re only a citizen), but “[a]t the very least this seems like yet another example of totally secretive rulemaking by the US government on what surveillance capabilities are legal, without any public review or adversarial process designed to make sure that civil liberties are protected.
