Last week's meeting of the American Society for Legal History included the announcement that the William Nelson Cromwell Foundation has awarded Dissertation Prize to Cynthia Nicoletti, a professor at the Mississippi College of Law,  for The Great Question of the War: The Legal Status of Secession in the Aftermath of the American Civil War, 1865-1869, which she wrote in the History Department at the University of Virginia, where her dissertation advisor was Gary Gallagher.  [read post]
