  Kentucky’s usury law[1] limits interest rates on certain debts to 8% per year unless parties agree in writing to a higher rate.[2]  In the HOA/COA context, Kentucky law specifically allows associations to charge up to 18% per year on past due balances.[3]  Ohio has a similar 8% limit, while Indiana has higher limits.
