At the core is a narrative inversion--for to some extent one might be excused if one sees in this drama a greater one (and one deeply satisfying for some): the collective reconstruction of peoples who suffered great tragedy at the hands of other peoples (only one of whom  was burdened with its responsibility in the case of one of the parties) now by a process of psychological necessary becomes  the very thing responsible for its tragedy.
