In the afternoon, my own presentation precluded me from hearing a lot of other people's stuff, but I did get to hear Brian Rowe, who was on my panel, present his careful and methodical analysis of gender bias in traffic ticketing, which included not only the offender's gender, but also the police officer's, as well as their "toughness" vis-a-vis enforcement standards.
