As many consumers have discovered to their horror, sometimes accounts appear on their credit reports which do not belong to them, and when that is explained to the credit reporting agencies (such as Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) and to the creditor/furnisher of information (such as Verizon, Bank of America, Capital One, etc.) the information is often not removed.
