On June 3, 2013, the NHSA asked Chrysler Corporation to issue a voluntary recall of the following two vehicle types: 1993-2004 Grand Cherokee 2002-2007 Liberty The recall would affect approximately 2.7 million vehicles, but Chrysler is arguing its vehicles are safe and there is no design or manufacture defect related to the fuel tank system.
