There is nothing about an execution that is meant to be pleasant so when the 37-year-old was finally pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m., it marked not only the close of a horribly-harrowing day but also a sad end to an 18-year process that began in 1990 when Osborne killed two people rather than give up $400 he had gotten for selling one of the victims' motorcycles.
