If a firearms manufacturer made a version of the AR-15 that had no “military style features” (no adjustable stock, no grip, no threads for a muzzle brake, etc.), that firearm would still be banned, because it would be a “copy” or “duplicate” of an ordinary AR-15, having “the capability of” the AR-15 (same caliber, type of action, rate of fire, etc.).
