The greatest disconnect I noticed between the public commentary on GSAW, which has focused on Lee’s portrayal of Atticus as a racist Citizens’ Council member, is its glossing over of her portrayal of Jean Louise (Scout), which seems to be more nearly Lee’s own voice. [read post]
