Last month I noted that there was an advertisement in the Trade-marks Journal for a trade-mark application for BLING - 1,234,016, in relation to jewellery, rings, earrings, chains, bracelets, precious stones, gold, silver, platinum, clocks, watches, figurines, crystal ornaments. “Bling” is slang for expensive and ostentatious jewelry and the like, so I wondered how this got past the Examiner.
