These products were sold under multiple brand names, including: Alexander & Hornung Wellshire Butcher Boy Garrett Valley Farms Food Club Niman Ranch Open Nature Big Y Five Star While retailers have removed these products from store shelves, any products purchased before the recall may still be in people’s homes and stored in refrigerators or freezers. ., Inc. of Fredericksburg, Virginia, not Wellshire Farms West of Palm Coast, Florida, the latter trademark owner having used this label specimen to federally-register the WELLSHIRE logo (note the small print indicating MADE IN MARYLAND): When lots of different and unrelated brands of ham offer Virginia and/or Virginia Brand ham, say Boar’s Head, Sara Lee, Black Bear, Eckrich, can Virginia and/or Virginia Brand really be a brand? Clair Shores, MI, a business unit of Perdue Premium Meat Company Inc., already recalled  234,391 and has now expanded that to 2,320,774 pounds of fully cooked ham and pepperoni products because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. [read post]
