  I doubt if this is the kind of umpire behavior Chief Justice Roberts had in mind when comparing judges to umpires calling strikes as they see them.You don't find too many nicknames like "Death to Flying Things" in modern baseball, and I'm kind of surprised no one revived it for the baseball player that probably did the most to earn it - newly-minted 300-game winner Randy Johnson - whose 95 mph pitching actually did cause the death of a flying thing a few years… [read post]
