On 17 November 2023, Griffiths J hand down judgment following the trial of a preliminary issue on meaning in the case of Alam v Guardian News and Media Ltd [2023] EWHC 2847 (QB), finding that the words complained of bore meanings which were defamatory at common law and were statements of fact.
