When bringing this type of opposition before the TTAB, the owner(s) of the family of marks will need to provide evidence of past marketing and advertising to prove the distinctiveness of the common element in the family of marks, as well unity of control over the use of the marks and the nature and quality of the goods or services to which the mark(s) apply.
