 There's no confession, either, even after a subsequent pretext call (in which the defendant continued to insist that he, too, had no memory of what transpired, although he often says that he's "sorry" that the victim was apparently raped while unconscious).Sure, there's some very minor evidence against the guy. When you've got lots of cases involving searches that turn up guns, you may have a keener sense that virtually everyone has a gun (or that most people searched have a gun) than actually exists.I don't know how much this plays into things, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't some tendency along these lines.
