JMS (61) of Villa Hills, Kentucky, was sentenced to two decades in prison for unlawfully prescribing opioids, which caused a patient’s death.JMS owned and operated dental clinics in Kentucky and is said to have issued opioid prescriptions to patients who suffered from substance abuse disorders.Apparently, the doctor charged his patient some $37,000 for dental procedures, and prescribed “medically unnecessary quantities of narcotics, including morphine. We had a lot of these pain clinic cases here in Florida with the federal and state law enforcement agencies shutting down a lot of so called pain clinics they claimed were distributing pain pills to people en masse without conducting proper medical evaluations and diagnoses. [read post]
