  Jeff Gelles of the Philadelphia Inquirer has written a comment on the WSJ article, arguing, I think correctly, that while pricing mechanisms that conceal the true price from consumers--some of which were described in the article--do indeed qualify as tricks and traps, merely increasing prices openly is not a trick because it doesn't deceive consumers (though, of course, price increases don't make consumers happy).
