Viewer discretion is advised.Here is the complaint in a class action lawsuit in the Southern District of New York, which seeks a  declaration that any copyright rights owned by Warner/Chappell are extremely limited (to certain piano arrangements published in the 1930's) and that the song is and has been for a long time in the public domain.More to the point, it seeks restitution of all license fees paid for the song going back to 2009.
