Sure applicants can simply decline to provide the passwords but that obviously makes a bad impression and hurts an applicants chances of landing the job so this legislation avoids that situation altogether and allows applicants to maintain their privacy.The ABA's website has a short article on the prospective legislation and cites famous law professor Orin Kerr: "It's akin to requiring someone's house keys.
