Because telemedicine laws vary by state, and the health care professional offering medical services to patients out-of-state is subject to the laws of both the home and the remote state, it is critical to get the right legal guidance.Some states explicitly regulate telemedicine by statute, others by regulation, while others do not refer to telemedicine but phrase their legal rules in terms of the practice by health care professionals who are out of state.
