In Chaplin’s case she wasn’t allowed to wear a necklace for health and safety reasons (which is probably a good justification for a policy) but, as Darren points out Eweida  should have won her case (of indirect discrimination) because BA may have struggled to justify why a necklace couldn’t be worn with the uniform.
