Comparing the period 2002-2003 with the July 2005-June 2007 period, the Eastern District of Louisiana "saw an elevenfold increase" in original, diversity-based class action filings; the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of Florida each saw seven times as many original, diversity-based class action filings after CAFA than they saw before CAFA; and the Central District of California saw five times as many such cases. On the corn subsidies, I wonder if those can EVER be deleted so long as Iowa's presidential caucuses are first.Perhaps after the next election, the US will take advantage of its historic opportunity to rethink foreign policy on our southern border in addition to overseas, before the violence in Mexico spills even further onto the American side. District Court for the Southern District of California  that imposed a penalty of more than  $8.5 million in attorneys' fees on Qualcomm for what that court determined was the failure of both in-house and outside counsel to produce tens of thousands of documents that had been requested in discovery--which failure was not revealed until  the middle of trial.
