Perhaps not directly, but their review of the tax, clear showing of its negative implications on the (very key) mining industry did do its large bit in influencing business and public opinion, which eventually reached its peak with deep unpopularity ratings for Rudd and intense opposition to the bill…..leading to his eventual resignation.
