 April of 2010 saw two non-O157 E. coli outbreaks: one in romaine lettuce (0145) with 19 confirmed cases in Michigan, New York, and Ohio, and the other (0111) in food served at a Colorado prison. [read post]

 In the lawsuit filed by Seattle-based Marler Clark, attorneys allege the Columbus, Ohio, resident the firm represents became ill with an E. coli O145 infection after eating contaminated lettuce distributed by Freshway Foods.The lawsuit names Freshway Foods as well as the grower and distributors of the contaminated lettuce as defendants.
