Altman Weil counts 60 law firm mergers and acquisitions announced in the United States in 2011, up 54% from 2010 and at the highest level since 2008, according to Altman Weil MergerLine, while the number of cross-border mergers involving US firms declined in 2011 after increases in 2009 and 2010.
