Since 2017, the international reach of the #MeToomovement (first developed by African-American activist Tamara Burke in 2006) has broughtnew attention to the widespread sexual harassment and assault of women, children, and men.Conversely, however, the successes of this movement have also been met by what have oftenbeen overtly misogynistic denials that such a continuum of sexual violence is a widespreadand disturbingly ‘normalised’ part of many women’s life experiences.
