NK - it turns out - was on probation in NH for 3 burglaries and has a 2-4 year state prison sentence hanging over his head.This arrest could cause his probation to be revoked and the 2-4 year sentence to be put into effect. [read post]

If the crime of Impersonating a peace/police officer occurs in a different context - that is the commission of other crimes - such as theft, sexual assault, or burglary of a home or business - the crime is considered much more serous and needs to approached from that perspective. [read post]

In the above case, the court found the insurer never gave its insured a chance to explain why he removed equipment from his business two days before the alleged burglary (according to the insured, he took parts and scrap metal to recycling centers and had proof that he did so) but decided quite early in its investigation that the insured submitted a fraudulent claim and proceeded to seek information to confirm that position.
