In a DWI case out of Collin County that went up to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin through the Dallas Court of Appeals, the Court of Criminal Appeals decided in November that the conviction was invalid because jury instructions about the "synergistic effect" of alcohol and hydrocodone (a synthetic opioid/pain reliever) were defective.
