 The original product patent has expired, and, for reasons which are intriguing but not disclosed, Warner-Lambert obtained a supplementary protection certificate which extended protection for pregabalin to 17 May 2018, but allowed it to lapse for non-payment of fees (this Kat would love to know why). This Kat personally finds it a bit patronising - if not totally unacceptable - that an author should feel discouraged from enforcing his/her rights, on account that the infringing act at hand has been committed for laudable reasons. [read post]
