All of them… during the same period of time… unrelated financial institutions… all… lost… the… same… assignment… records… at… the… same… time, and then all decided that the obvious solution was to have someone sign affidavits 10,000 times a month without reading them and present those to the courts. There’s also $3 billion that’s supposed to be devoted to the refinancing of underwater but current mortgages, but this fund will only apply to mortgages owned by one of the five banks involved in the settlement… Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citibank, and Ally Bank/GMAC… and then, only to those current on their mortgage payments. No… those paragraphs were intended to be about Bank of America, or JPMorgan Chase, or Wells Fargo… or Citibank, GMAC, One West Bank… or any of the banksters, for that matter. [read post]

But I want to make sure we all understand what’s at the core of this situation… what caused Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, and GMAC, et al, to employ “robo-signers,” and attempt to foreclose using fraudulent affidavits claiming that each bank had lost the actual notes. [read post]

Attorney Thomas Cox of Portland, Maine, who you may remember from the “GMAC uses robo-signers deposition” that brought foreclosures to a standstill last fall, says that in his opinion… “He (Judge Grossman) does the most thorough and competent analysis of the MERS charade that I have seen, basically concluding that the entire MERS business model does not comply with our laws, and that he will no longer accept MERS mortgage assignments in his court room.
