This case is unusual if only because you usually don't see someone get sentenced to federal prison for trying to smuggle someone into Mexico.Though if the reason you're trying to smuggle that person into Mexico is because he just shot and killed a police officer in the United States, yeah, that'll get you in trouble for sure.  Perhaps a combination of the above.Regardless, today sees yet yet another case from the CNMI that involves an incredibly lengthy (nearly 20 years) sentence for sex trafficking in the CNMI.You'd think that people would get the message by now, right? [read post]

  Particularly since (1) the plaintiff didn't see anything that she slipped upon, (2) there was allegedly a store inspection of that exact area eight minutes before the fall, and (3) the plaintiff was wearing three-to-four inch stiletto heels at the time she fell.In any event, Vons gets summary judgment, and the Court of Appeal affirms.
