The fact is that State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide, and other insurance companies owe thousands of families on the Mississippi Gulf Coast millions of dollars for unpaid Hurricane Katrina damage claims, and it is wrong for any insurance company to stop writing coverage in a state as punishment for having to pay claims that are owed under the policies. That's a good question.This next point is a valid one.Why should we expect everyone to buy health insurance, which is even more expensive than auto insurance, when 25% of the drivers in the state ignore the existing "individual mandate" for auto insurance? [read post]
