Really we all work for Geico, State Farm, Liberty Mutual, Allied, USAA, and all the other corporate float machinery that is ripping off the paying insureds.Now I don’t know about you other plaintiff lawyers, but I for one am sick-and-tired of having my time wasted by defense lawyers and insurance adjusters all trying to drag cases out so they can justify their jobs that revolve around wasting time. Even more disturbing, if you had the forsight to purcahse disability insurance or life insurance (in the case of a wrongful death case)--the negligent corporation's liability insurance company will also get a credit for that insurance money (even though it is from another seperate insurance company). Since by definition these companies did not have sufficient funds to pay victims the full measure of their damage, the bankruptcy courts have permitted these companies to collect all of their assets, including revenue, insurance, stock, etc., into a single fund for the payment of victims’ claims.
