  I hate to be overly critical, and it is possible that a weeknight piano recital after a long workday (I taught my early morning class this morning) does not leave one in the best state of alertness to appreciate such a program,  but I found myself somewhat hypnotized by the proceedings, and afterwards felt a bit detached from the world, almost like sleep-walking, as I made my way home through the subway, running bits of the program again through my mind.
