 The mountain guide at Sierra Mountain Center (which is a great resource for all forms of backpacking, rock climbing, trekking, etc.) thought it was a mountain lion kill,  probably taking a mule deer, which the lion then dragged and probably hid somewhere in the brush.With so much snow this year in the Sierras, it has been hard to get very far in on trails which we normally take.
