While I might understand what a judge is getting at when they write that the trial, which was scheduled for four hours but took more than three days, “had as much in common with ‘four hours’ as the castaways on Gilligan’s Island had with a ‘three hour tour’”, I’m guessing that many of the students I teach will not understand the reference – they know nothing about Gilligan’s Island.
